The timeless and endearing looks make Airframe-X fit in a modern and or any interior where limits and contrasts are explored. The Dutch designer Mark Baars of Vorza found inspiration in the aerospace and racing industry when he made the first sketches and remarks: “ Spending hours in museums studying airplane constructions and leather seats in cars like Bugatti, Aston Martin and Ferrari. I wanted to make something; that would not be designed just because it looks nice, I wanted to make something with it's own character, that says something about yourself, your company or the room it is placed in . I’m certain that mission is accomplished” Airframe-X is made out from high quality aluminium and has an anodized finish. Anodizing is an electrochemical process that converts the metal surface into a decorative, durable, corrosion-resistant finish. Handmade leather cushions are cut from the finest hides, the stitching is done exactly as 'back in the days'. Mark says: 'I really enjoyed working with such skillful people it is good to see that craftsmanship can be combined with modern techniques like this.' The table frame is surprisingly light and a chair frame only weighs approximately 5 kilogram's (11 LBS) The toughened glass table top has polished edges and can be delivered in these shades: Transparent, Grey (transparent), Black (limited transparency). Also several kinds of HPL (High Pressure Laminate) table tops are available. Mark: “When people order from the website they purchase it directly from me. Every item is unique and numbered, this way you know you have the real thing and it keeps the costs to a minimum. Also I really like the feedback because, input can be very inspiring and new designs with the Airframe-X signature will follow.
